Spring Tune-Ups Bring Zoning Opportunities

Even though the warm weather still seems out of reach, spring is almost upon us; and with spring comes everyone’s annual surge of cleaning. Usually, when we get into spring cleaning mode, we attack what we see: the dust that’s been layering that shelving unit for the better part of a year, the clothes that haven’t seen the light of day since the early 2000’s, and all those magazines you only read once that have been cluttering the corner of the living room. But what we don’t see is often just as important as what’s before our eyes.

This spring contractors will be visiting many homes to clean HVAC units and ductwork. Just like every other machine, these systems collect dust and dirt as well as regular wear and tear from being in constant use; and just like every other machine, they need regular maintenance and cleaning. Because you’ll be on sight at the home or office for the tune-up, you’ll have plenty of occasions to offer your clients comfort opportunities.

The homeowner has just endured an icy winter, and they’ve probably picked up on which rooms in their home have the chill factor and how to avoid them, and now that spring and summer are just around the corner, they’re probably starting to remember those insufferably warm rooms that they banish until fall and winter return. Offering zoning to homeowners like this is an easy sell: they get control of their home back, and they get to use those rooms in comfort again.

Some homeowners schedule a spring tune-up because they know regular maintenance of their system helps keep it efficient and keeps their energy bills down. You can let them know that zoning can further reduce their costs without any extra maintenance. Because Arzel has the only lifetime warranty in the industry, they won’t have to pay for any replacement parts for the entire time they live in the home once they purchase the system. It will quickly pay for itself, and your client will see the decrease in their energy bills.

Zoning is an easy sell to virtually any homeowner. They just need to know there’s a solution to their uncomfortable living situation and energy bills.

Summer is here, and with that comes a rush of service calls; in that rush, as technicians, we often skip the basics of air conditioning performance, starting with proper airflow. As an HVAC contractor, correctly sizing the furnace and air conditioner for your client’s home or business is essential. Accurate load calculations prevent the risks associated with oversized or undersized systems, such as increased energy costs, reduced efficiency, and premature equipment failure. Load calculations, or “Manual J” for residential and light commercial applications, consider factors […]
