With Arzel Zoning, adding zoning to the HVAC system is in the budget! We know homebuilding can be a very price-conscious area, but that’s no reason to leave your clients out in the cold. Here’s how Arzel is making zoning affordable for new construction applications.
The MPS zoning panel provides zone control at a fraction of the cost of our more feature-rich panels. MPS is covered by our lifetime warranty, which can be transferred to the new owner. MPS also uses the same modern pneumatic damper technology that makes our zoning systems reliable.
MPS is compatible with single-stage equipment, including heat pumps. It can control up to 35 dampers and is available in 2 or 3 zones.
Another feature of any Arzel system is our line of high-quality dampers. To give you an idea of their longevity, our test damper has cycled open and closed continuously over 23 million times. These dampers are powered by a pneumatic pump, eliminating the need to run wiring for the dampers or add extra transformers. Just run the pneumatic tubing and cut to length. The gasket seal provides a tight closure that maintains the temperature desired in each zone.
Installing our dampers is simple, too. They are installed by simply cutting into the side of a duct, so you can assemble all the ductwork first and add the dampers later. Or you use our sleeved EzySlide dampers that are pre-installed in a duct sleeve. Watch our damper installation demo to learn more about how they work.
Our motorless dampers are less expensive than motorized dampers, so the cost savings with each damper really add up. When you combine these damper prices with our MPS panel price, you’ll find a zoning system that fits zoning into the new construction budget.
If your application requires a more feature-rich zone control, consider the Pro Panel. It offers built-in staging for multi-stage equipment, and its zone weighting feature can manage staging based on the percentage of ductwork in use. The Pro Panel is compatible with dual fuel, heat pumps, split and package geothermal, and conventional equipment. It’s available with up to 4 zones in one panel box, and you can daisy chain Pro Panels together to create up to 16 zones. With the Pro Panel, you’ll also get easy app-based setup and diagnostics, making it a great choice if you want to install a more full-featured zoning system.
If your new construction project is a light commercial building, you may need more than 3 zones, and you may want additional features. We recommend the Pro Panel or the AirBoss, depending on the application and what your customer needs.
We recommend the Pro Panel anytime you’re controlling multi-stage equipment or heat pump systems. It expertly handles the staging for these systems. Features like zone weighting make the system design more flexible, and the Pro Panel has options for controlling emergency heat.
The Pro Panel can zone up to 16 zones in one system when you daisy-chain Pro Panels together. It comes in 2, 3, or 4 zone configurations without daisy-chaining. Its app-based setup makes Pro Panel installation faster and easier.
AirBoss is available for up to 8 zones in one panel box. It has features like master zone control, which allows setback from one thermostat, and leaving air temperature protection to protect the equipment. AirBoss works with two-stage equipment by using a staging delay timer. It does not stage based on temperature.
AirBoss doesn’t have all the features of the Pro Panel. If you are looking for a panel that is very straightforward to install, and you don’t need a lot of features, the AirBoss could be the best panel for the job.
See our guide to selecting the best zone control panel for your application for more details about each of our panel options. It will explain each feature you should think about, and give a breakdown of what each panel can do.
