Understanding Zone Dampers for Residential HVAC

Zone Dampers for Residential HVAC

Zone dampers are an important comfort solution for residential HVAC systems. These devices open or close in the ductwork to direct conditioned air to the right place at the right time. They reduce energy waste and ensure consistent temperatures in the home.

Arzel Zoning makes high-quality zone dampers specifically designed for residential applications. Our products deliver precise control, energy savings, and enhanced comfort for homeowners. If you’re retrofitting an existing HVAC system or working on a new construction project, Arzel Zoning offers solutions that stand out in the industry.

Overview of Arzel Zoning’s Zone Dampers

Arzel Zoning offers a variety of zone dampers for residential HVAC systems. Known for their user-friendly installation, durable construction, and reliable performance, these dampers help homeowners enjoy a more comfortable and energy-efficient living environment. Arzel Zoning products integrate seamlessly with most residential HVAC systems, making them suitable for both retrofits and new installations.

Key features of Arzel Zoning’s dampers include quiet operation, flexible sizing options, and advanced designs that ensure proper airflow regulation. When you’re looking to address hot and cold spots, lower energy bills, or provide better comfort control for your customers, Arzel Zoning’s dampers deliver results.

EzySlide® Dampers

Arzel Zoning’s EzySlide dampers are an excellent choice for residential HVAC systems, offering a combination of ease of use and high performance. These dampers feature a gasketed edge that provides a secure seal, minimizing air leakage and ensuring efficient airflow control. The design allows for quiet operation, so homeowners can enjoy better comfort without noise disruptions.

EzySlide dampers are highly versatile, making them ideal for both retrofit and new construction applications. They are installed directly into the ductwork using a simple process that HVAC technicians can complete in about 2 minutes. After installation, the dampers provide reliable, long-term operation, helping homeowners achieve consistent temperatures throughout their homes.

Specialty Dampers: EzyFit, InsertaDamper, and RegiDamper

In addition to EzySlide dampers, Arzel Zoning offers a range of specialty dampers tailored to specific residential HVAC needs.

EzyFit Dampers are round dampers that fold in half like a taco. A large magnet holds the damper in place. When you have the EzyFit in position, let go of the blade and a spring will hold it open. EzyFit dampers are great for retrofit projects with limited access. For example, you can install EzyFit dampers through the register. You’ll still get the same dependable seal and precise airflow control with EzyFit. See how to install EzyFit dampers.

The InsertaDamper® is a round damper held in place by a spring-loaded metal band. Squeeze the metal band, and the InsertaDamper will fit around corners. InsertaDamper is another great choice when you have limited access to the ductwork. For example, if a round duct is buried, you may be able to reach in through the trunk and place the InsertaDamper in the round duct. It’s a lot easier than cutting through drywall or relocating ductwork! InsertaDampers also work well for non-metallic ducts where the EzyFit would not work. Here’s how to install InsertaDamper.

The RegiDamper® is the damper to use when even the EzyFit and InsertaDamper won’t work. RegiDamper installs underneath the register grill. It can save a zoning project where there’s just one length of duct you can’t access. However, RegiDamper does not have a gasketed seal like the EzySlide, EzyFit, and InsertaDamper do. So we recommend using the RegiDamper only when you can’t use another option.
